F-Secure sells security software for getting rid of adware.
F-Secure claims to have found adware for Mac without providing evidence.

    I think not!

I think amazon should use a better compression format, but at nearly half the price the same song on iTunes, apple has a tough sell.

How am i a geek. I need to be able to keep files on my phone like word docs that I can access at any computer. I prefer a Full keyboard and T-mo sucks many people have these same wants and needs out of a smart phone.

First of all, you can do that on an iPhone already. There are any number of ways to do that. Full keyboard? Yeah, tons of people want those... that's why they're selling so well!

Making the Highway 1 route from LA to SF with my father. It's for my 16th birthday.

How much did you pay for the tickets?

As much as I wish it would happen, I doubt Apple has fully internalized that the glossy glass screens were a horrendous design decision. I bet is it'll be two more years until they will be forever phased out, along with the enormous black bezels on the majority of products. But Apple is typically slow in realizing their mistakes, no surprise given their successes.

Point well taken. You're probably right but i'm still hoping that they at least cut down that huge bezel. Also I would hope that they make that SSD standard.

No real surprise here. Apple has been charging for MobileMe. Why not this service.

    That's right.

Given the mediocre performance of MobileMe, I think if they work the bugs out of the Cloud Based Storage Service it's easily going to command around $200 per year.

A nice bump for my stock :)

As many have accurately stated, Apple does things on their terms. They know people will wait. Its no big deal.

You watch too much Star Trek. It's still a computer, not a digital house servant. Although..... that would be pretty cool. "Computer, go make me a sandwich."
I also find that in the near future.

    Definitely coming soon.

sure. apple has no problem giving a refund, as they keep their 30% that the developer now has to pay. that's a cool $300 that apple just ripped off from the developer all to protect their mistake and their idiot customers.

Here's another way to slice it (literally). Flipped half the image. Left the guidelines on this one as well.

I agree that this is no substitute for measuring the actual phone, but, at least in that photo, they are identical. Certainly not off by 1mm as the original post states.

Are we the only ones who can see that these photos have identical size iPhones in them? Ha

Is there no duty to report a crime?

    Short answer: No.

Longer answer: There is no general duty to report a crime, although in highly specific circumstances, reporting may be statutorily required. For example, a therapist is required to report child abuse, as are teachers, etc. Prosecutions under such laws for failure to report are extremely rare and almost never successful--the prosecution would have to prove the person knew the crime in question was being committed, which is very difficult to do.

    Wow, this could be huge.

First of all, it looks like this is a using pre-built string. And from my quick research, this glitch is being listed for all "Universal" apps.

My guess is this is referring to a future touch-screen Mac.

i do realize that this is a private beta but even in the beta stage parallels was much better.....

Um... this is a private beta for a reason. Also, none of the Parallel's beta builds were built with debug symbols on and they were meant for public release.

Um, as a "private beta" it might be considered a "public alpha". I'm sure they're just making sure that things work before the public beta...

Yeah, isn't it nice when people decide unilaterally what is "professional" and what is not? The distinctions are totally arbitrary of course, but it's easy to see how by virtue of this thinking, Word remains dominant. Nothing else will do, because nothing else will do. What a wonderful tautology.

For the record, I've been using Pages happily and successfully since it came out. Version 2 is an improvement, as well it should be, but that's a long way from saying that version 1 was worthless.

From his rebuttal, I guess we didn't read what he meant from what he said.

I actually got quite good use from version 1 after they added the page sorter.

Could someone clarify this for me: Aren't hard drives too slow to make use of Thunderbolt anyway? In a typical USB 2.0 external hard drive, what is the bottleneck in speed: The speed at which the hard drive spins, or the USB 2.0 connection? If it's the USB, then why do people even care about the RPM of a drive? If it's the RPM, then isn't USB 2.0 fast enough to run a hard drive at its native speed?

Look forward to thunderbolt hub. USB 3.0, esata and a DisplayPort daisy chain.

What he said. You can get adaptors for different things, plus daisy chain multiple devices together. One device may not be able to use the whole TB bandwidth, but if you add a bunch of accessories to the same port, it'll add up. Right now, the only single device that might be able to utilize the whole bandwidth would be a RAID array and other high-end stuff. But as SSDs come more common & speed up, we'll see TB being more useful. This definitely won't happen overnight, no matter how much some of us might hope.

If I own a PC and I want to run Vista, why would I want to also run Vista, on the same machine, in a virtual environment?

For Mac users, why would we want to install Vista-(via BootCamp) and then also use it under virtualization?

More importantly, for Mac users, why would we *want* to run Vista at all? :D Oh, you *have* to for some reason? Sorry to hear that...very unfortunate. :p

Black-on-white crime, much more prevalent than the reverse, is one of those open secrets the media doesn't like to report on, usually since they're too busy accusing whites of racism.

The media always reports on black on white crime, so much so, that they are often accused of over-reporting and fueling white people's fear of the big bad black man!
