Apple dosent registor domain names like that...

Apple doesn't purchase individual sites for its products. They put everything under the www.apple.com site. go try looking for www.macbook.com or www.powerbook.com and you'll see they just go to individual user's sites. So no MacbookAir.com site registered to Apple doesn't mean anything.

Not much I can do with my dorm.

Do you go to UMD by any chance? Because that looks almost exactly like my dorm down to the tiny desk they give you.

I think Apple will specifically NOT make a 17" Monitor as Digitimes are so astonishingly innaccurate .

I drive a 2011 Toyota Venza, but it has the manual option to upshift and downshift, with no clutch, which is fun :D

Although I do know how to drive stick, the logic is easy once you get the hand of it....

Driving stick in traffic especially in LA is horrible!!

yes, iPod out sold CPU's this quarter... But they still don't make as much money, as they are cheaper. the 807 thousand ipods sold this quarter count for only 15% of Apple's profit, whereas the 779000 (around that) (up 5% from this quarter last year) count for more then 45% of thier profit

45% of their profit ! Its alittle dangerous for Apple to be relying on the Ipod to push sales. Why not sell Macs with ipods ??? eg: Buy an Emac and get an 10gb Ipod for $100 or Buy a G5 Powermac and get a 10gb Ipod for $50 !

That would drive sales up and up.

If properly maintained, mileage holds no bounds! BMW's will go to 250k easy.

The engines will, no problem. It's all the expensive bits around them that can't!

A Netflix subscription and a spindle of DVD-R discs is cheaper then one new movie from Apple.

    Sorry, not interested.

MacRumorsLive.com (http://www.macrumorslive.com/) will provide live coverage of the event starting at 1PM EDT (10AM Pacific). No need to reload the page, updates will appear as they are posted. In January, our system successfully delivered updates to over 100,000 (http://www.macrumors.com/events/mwsf2006-stats.php) simultaneous visitors.

More photos of banners posted at WWDC have been circulating. Apple appears to be taking on Microsoft's upcoming Vista operating system directly with banners that state:

Plus, of all the major auto racing circuits, only NASCAR still uses stick shifts. That ought to tell people something...

I'm not sure what that should tell people. None of the others have space for a traditional stick shift, and they all still use some form of manual.

Anyhow, I love driving stick. Never been to UK, so no RHD for me (not sure if I could handle that, my hands are very used to their positions in a LHD car) I love the control you have over the car, and while you can have a lot of fun with it, you can also save a good bit of gas when driven right.

Currently reporting at $61.10. Up $7.00 from yesterday.

Yahoo article reports: According to Gartner, Apple shipped 766,000 PCs in the second quarter of the year, good enough for 4.6% of the U.S. market, and a 15.4% increase over a year ago. Apple's growth rate exceeded those of the No. 1 and No. 2 PC companies, Dell Inc.:)

I've only owned cars with a stick shift. It's sad to see that more and more models are now available in automatic only.

The 24" iMac can be upgraded to a 7600GT video card. Anyone know how decent that is? What about the x1600?

I'm not sure how they would add iOS though without changing the look, unless iOS was purely for the background features. Or perhaps a click wheel AND touch screen would still be a "classic".

exactly. ios4 base, but made look the same UI.

Come to think about it, longer lasting battery stamina, better screen, internal additions. All without really changing the physical appearance of the classic.

It can therefore still be 'classic' with up-to-date tweaks.

Still cant see any sign of MBPs.*weeps*

    Maybe next tuesday...

But remember the iMac and Mac had the first Intel chips, so I think the MacBook and MacBook Pro will get Merom in the next few weeks.... well I hope so

And mc68k should be over 10 million about now! Congrats! Happy new year :D

Honestly with the new Quad Core MBP lineup it makes much more sense to get a monitor and add it to your notebook than to get an iMac. (Unless you really need 16GB of ram vs 8GB).

I can see one day only having the Mac Pro for those of use that need one (video editing, digital creation etc) and the high-powered MBP for those who don't want a tower.

desktops are slowly but surely dying out. Notebooks are becoming more and more powerful and even moreso portable so what will an iMac offer that MacBooks won't have? Larger screen?

UK and Ireland stores are still up so now I'm beginning to think they'll announce a Mac Mini AirPort hybrid with DVR capabilities, a huge HD, and input-output and on-the-fly hardware decoding for every video feed you can think of and it'll retail at $50...

...but it'll only work in the US.

    Dang it

I think a lot of you are expecting way too much on the "iTV" and will be very disappointed when it gets released.

    1. DVR Functionality?
Nope, I don't see it. Don't see it happening EVER. This places iTV in direct competition with Cable and Satellite providers, which (imho) is a losing battle. A good example is Tivo. While, Tivo is still lauded in the industry and consumers as having the "best DVR interface/UI," it's still not selling well to consumers. Why? Cable and Satellite providers are providing DVRs and a MUCH lower cost, and even though their UI/interface sucks terribly, because of the LOW COST, the Cable/Satellite boxes are outselling Tivos.

On Demand. This category amongst cable companies are expanding very rapidly and offering free content left and right. Good example is HBO, nearly *ALL* of their shows are On Demand now which is instant access to all of their shows. Generally speaking (for people who use HBO On Demand), this has been extremely popular, maybe this is why HBO is still not being sold on iTunes? Why download when you have access to nearly all of the HBO content for free and instantaneous?

    2. Remote Desktop viewer?
Nope, don't see this at all either. If this were a Mac world only, MAYBE I could see this happening, but the harsh reality is that we live in a primarily Windows world. I really don't see Apple moving into utilizing Remote Desktop on Windows machines THROUGH iTV.

You have to remember that unlike iMac, Mac Pro, Macbooks, etc, the iTV will have to satisfy Windows users as well.

What do I see the iTV for? Streaming media, a glorified IP TV box, an easier way to bring the iPod to the living room. I really don't see it doing anything else. I'm hoping that I'm wrong.

I would be only be disappointed if I purchased the device and it wasnt up to my expectations.

If it has incredibly limited features and offers no value and no one buys it, I dont care.

I have all those features in my living room right now. VOD, HD DVR, (which is the same thing as TiVo, as Comcast will be using a TiVo next year for the DVR)

Just because some of us are speculating on what we would be of value to us, HD, less commercials, a more useful bandwidth, doesnt mean we are expecting to see any of this next week.
