I'll make the assumption that I'm going to lose the vote so I'll get some last analysis in while I can.
Make note of the people who voted for me.
Jav - Still not sure if he voted for me to silence me or because he was still mad at me for the last game. He is acting (voting) the same way he did last game.
Based on the above info, UCF is the best probability of getting a WW tomorrow. If UCF is a WW, then it's most likely that either Nies or Eldiablojoe is the other one.
Hardly voting same way as last time. Also, I'm voting against you for previously stated reasons. When the game started I got my PM which was also sent to you. Because of that (me wanting to feel special it was a unique own PM) I vote for you this game.
However people didn't get the joke. As per silencing you, meh... Could care less since I am no wolf, not that I can prove that in any way or form.

He was just in the Bahamas with two babe girlfriends and has a hundred million dollars - destroy me please! :D
He's living the dream. He's a rock star from Mars. Seriously. Personally, I'd rather be Keith Richards with just two remaining brain cells and lived his life than corporate middle management at the same age with all my brain cells intact.
He is who he is because of his dad.
Pretty bleak world view you have there. Either a washed up, though rich, drug addict or corporate middle management?
I wouldn't say he's living the dream. Certainly not a life I'd like to live. (could do with some of the cash though!)

I would happily pay the current fee for MobileMe if Apple offered some better options for hosting a website. Right now I pay for web hosting for a family blog and a flickr pro account. If I could host my wordpress blog on my idisk space with my own domain name, I would sign up right now.

Too bad to hear about the brea store. Before I left to go to best buy i told the end of the line that there was no one in line at the Fullerton best buy.
No one believed me apparently because only a couple came. Showed up at 12:30, was 4th in line and walked out with a 16 GB white by 5:15. Everyone else who came from the mall got theirs as well

It doesn't really matter at this point. Black or white, it's the iPhone. It'll still sell out.

I don't know about setting thresholds like that, but I sure would like to be able to download (and re-download) free apps without being prompted every time.
Um, that's what he said. "Never prompt me for password with apps costing below $x" Obviously free falls under that category.

I'm not sure at what price point predatory pricing becomes an issue, but I would think that Amazon may have crossed that line.
Predatory pricing becomes an issue for Amazon after it dominates the market place and sets its prices significantly lower than the competition in an attempt to drive them out of business. So, let Amazon capture 70% or 80% more of the legal music download market and then maybe bring up predatory pricing.
If Amazon is selling music at a loss per song, then the FTC might have a say about that.
Has no one in this thread heard of a 'loss leader' before? Movie tickets at a theater? Loss leader. Gas from a gas station? Loss leader. Anything on sale (especially Black Friday)? Loss leader. iTunes Store? Yup, some loss leading going on there too.

"We would like to break even/make a little bit of money but it's not a money maker," he said, candidly.

When the conversation turned to rivals such as eTunes and Napster, Jobs said: "They don't make iPods, so they don't have a related business where they do [make money]".

iTunes' big studio deal announced yesterday? It's going to be an expensive one for Steve Jobs who's taking a loss on each film sold. Some terms from the WSJ: Apple (APPL) is paying $16 to the studios for each new release, and will sell the films to consumers for $14.99.

Not sure I understand, I've had 4G on my Evo for over a year now...
Hrm....
wimax is not 4G. it even shows up with the wifi icon when it's connected. LTE is a real ITU standard that will eventually pave the way for real 4G

I agree. Tough love is best here. It's better to have the vulnerabilities exposed in this manner than in a live scenario. Let's just hope the press from this is enough for Apple to fix the problem before we have something bigger than a proof-of-concept exploit.
Yeah, when the poll was loading I expected 80-90% to be concerned about security, turns out only 40% are. So many ignorant "blissful" people that excuse Apple and think "It's Apple, of course it's safe". Obviously it's not. Ten serious exploits in about as many days of looking (they spent 30 days total, about an equal amount on linux and mac, and the rest on other OS's, so 10 should be right) and that is just scratching the surface. I was shocked that Apple actually had so many vulnerabilities, and for those that didn't find it scary that someone can install a program with kernel access simply by having you download their dmg file (not even opening it), well they're just being silly and need to realize that this is and some extremely bad things can happen if we are to go by that analysts words (saying OS X is not hot on security and that it is easy to find new hacks). :p

As first noted in a HardMac forum post (http://forum.hardmac.com/index.php?showtopic=159&st=0&p=917&#entry917), it appears Microsoft is specifying in its license agreements that the ability to operate in a virtualized environment is prohibited in Home Basic and Home Premium editions, leaving users to have to purchase either the Business or the Ultimate versions of the software to legally run in a virtualized environment.
Mac users have found virtualization solutions such as Parallels Desktop a good way to switch between Mac OS X and Windows. This latest news from Microsoft may inhibit some use of the software as Business and Ultimate editions range from $300-400 verses Home Basic's $200 price point (prices (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/08/20060829093154.shtml)).
Microsoft's EULA agreements can be found here (http://www.microsoft.com/about/legal/useterms/default.aspx).

IIRC, the manager said that they only had 16GB WiFi. But I had already tuned out at that point since I was there for AT&T, so I may have misheard.
Ah okay. Well, I will probably be in line with my friend tomorrow so he can get his. We will definitely go early. I have a 16 gig white one I should try selling in line ;)

I've had them all since Gen one excpet for the Video. Lost my Nano and gave other away. Now just have a Gen 3. Need a new one here soon when they make a car adaptor for the optical bus equipped BMWs. Gen 3 will go there and the new one will be for home, work and travel.
Is the smart play to wait a month or two?
eh..I heard the next generation of ipods will be released next year. Probably in November, just before Christmas. I didn't know they were going to release the video ipod or else I would've waited two months before getting my ipod photo!

Apple should have safeguards in place to ensure apps are not downloaded without a password when the cost exceeds $20. I even contest the addition of 1 to a bill when it was not part of the contract.
