I think Linux-on-iPod needs a mod player :)
That would be a fun project to do. I would love to be able to play xm/mod/it songs on my ipod.. interesting.

they will exchange it. just show them what is worng.
If I bring this to the Genius Bar, which is the more likely outcome: they will fix it, or exchange it? I'd like to know so I can start copying my files off of the computer.

Executable code from 3rd party servers?
If this is what iCab did then Apple should have done this a long time ago.
Seems strange that they approved it in the first place.

I use a Apple Magic Mouse.. which is a laser mouse, and works fantastically (as youd expect) with Mac OS X.
I can approve. But you should try it first, as you might not like touch mice (some people are too used to normal mice and, yeah..)

Either way Apple is going strong and the potential for iPhone (and Apple gadgets) and Mac OS X to move forward are huge.
Yeah, Apple's gadgets. What about... oh, I don't know... their COMPUTERS?
Specifically the Mac Pro and Mac Mini. So much potential there.

In my second post on this thread, I stated that I just reset the iPad and still have the same problem.
did you restore from backup? settings still get transfered.
i had a 1st gen iPhone that i jail broke, and enabled the emoji keyboard. It's still enabled on my current phone, even though i un-jailbroke the 1st gen, eventually changed to a 3G (used it both jailbroken and not) and changed to a 4 (currently un-jailbroken).
so yes, even though you restored to the stock OS, it can still be affected by having been jailbroken in the past.
you'll probably have to do a clean install, and start all your settings over from scratch.

Hello all,
I bought an iPad 1 about 2 weeks ago, brand new. All has been well, and I was able to jailbreak it on firmware 4.2.1 using green poison.
I think I made an error yesterday by trying to charge the iPad with a 3rd party connector. It charged fine, and this morning I awoke to a 100% charged battery as usual.
The problem however is that it is STUCK at 100% for the whole day, and that's with a good amount of usage.
I've tried:
-Rebooting (full power off, power on), respringing, trying to sync with itunes, all to no avail. The battery is still stuck at 100%
What is the BEST option for me at this point? If I need to RESTORE, what is the best way to make sure i STAY on 4.2.1 so I can apply the UNTETHERED jailbreak again? The more specific, the more helpful...such as if I were to restore, should I be able to restore from a backup or just create as a brand new iPad?
Thanks everybody, this is really bothering me because being unsure of my battery percentage sucks when leaving the house and not knowing when it'll die.:(

Is that done just by going to accounts, unlocking the lock, right clicking the name and selecting the home folder -- and I presume just making sure it's the same folder that is selected for SL?
System Preferences > Accounts > Click the lock and type your password > Right-click the user and select "Advanced Options..." > Home directory
You just select the same folder as in SL. If your username is Steve, then it would be Macintosh HD/Users/Steve, assuming Macintosh HD is the volume where SL is installed.
Also, given my setup (SSD booting and running SL with my apps) what is the best way to install Lion? I have the dmg. file, so what would I do to make sure I don't wipe out my SSD situation?
Create a new partition to the HD (e.g. Mac OS X Lion) and when installing Lion, it will ask you where do you want to install it. Select the volume you just created and that's it. You don't need to boot from the DMG, just open it while running SL

Look in your book for exactly what you're supposed to use for #import. You may have made a mistake.
I'm not sure, but #import <Fraction.h> seems wrong to me. If Fraction.h were a system-provided class, it would be correct. But it's a developer-created class, so #import "Fraction.h" seems more sensible to me, and is what I've always used when referring to class headers I create.
Post your code.
No one with any programming experience would believe anyone (beginner or experienced) who says there are no compilation errors, unless the code has actually been compiled without errors. You may be right, but we need to see the evidence of the compiler.
Thanks! Your answer helped. So now I know that <**> are only for system provided classes. I used quotes for Fraction.h and it worked.
The example that I used had everything dumped in the main .m file along with the main function.

does anyone know anything about backpacks for laptops that you can use to go biking? As in a bag thats meant for biking
Check out these:
http://www.comuta.co.uk/
They're awesome for carrying stuff on a bike, great protection, and if you drop the bag, your laptop doesn't have a problem.

sorry about that guys. I just thought that since it worked for me I'd get it out there. I just figured out about that ssh blobs stuff and so for me the easier way to do it was using sn0wbreeze. After the fact that I did a little more research which o shoudve have done earlier before
making this thread. Well at least I helped 1 guy :) just joined too double thumbs up :$
