    I would say Time Machine is convenient but it is not a viable "only" backup solution. I have lost everything 3 times using TM to a Time Capsule. This happened twice when my backup destination volume became "corrupted" and Apple blamed this on backing up over Wifi and on having my machine sleep in the middle of a backup. Well duh, if the same company wrote the OS and the backup software, I would think they could figure out how to sleep without corrupting a backup destination volume. :mad: The third time was when the Time Capsule power supply died. Apple replaced it for free but by then my lesson was learned: In short, I use a multi layered backup strategy and while Time Machine is a central part, it will never be my "only" backup.

    I suggest the following...

    From time to time, mount your time machine destination "sparsebundle" file using disk utility. Check it for errors. If it develops errors, don't fret simply delete it and start over. Yes, I just said you should delete your backup. This is how Apple second level support told me to handle a corrupted sparsebundle. Now you see why Time Machine will never be my only backup.

    Get TimeMachineEditor.app and change TM backup schedule to once or twice daily instead of hourly. This reduces likelihood of corruption and prevents that darn thing from spinning every time you sit down at the keyboard.

    From time to time, copy your Documents folder in its entirety to a firewire drive, network drive or off site backup such as crashplan, or all 3. In OSX, copying a new folder over an older version replaces the entire thing so this strategy does not give the ability to get old files back. You will be able to recover the most recent stuff you backed up but that's it.

    If you subscribe to MobileMe, from time to time, grab your most important files and copy them to your iDisk.

    Probably that crazy guy who sold an iPhone for $120.

    Heh, I actually didn't care who the celebrity was. Just felt like posting on a thread that was already sold, plus notified mods to lock it but mods are apparently too busy to respond :rolleyes:.

    Would you be interested in Rampage Total Destruction or Geometry Wars? I also have a classic controller, but I probably won't let that go unless the price is high enough.

    Thanks!

    The thing about TN's bad viewing angles, isn't it's only problem. Most IPS run 24 bit RGB giving 16.7 mill different colors and shades. TN normally has lower bit depth, which could lead to banding.

    IPS is the way to go, but don't get to fixated on the blacks. Many screen manufactures crunch the blacks in their default settings, meaning that you'll loose detail in the shadows.

    If you wan't perfect colors and and blacks, you should consider buying a probe for calibrating. Even a cheap TN panel can output color and gamma close to perfect after calibration. Only thing is, you have to sit 100% still, and look only at the center of the TN panel in a 90 deg angle... ;)

    I think IPS was developed by Hitachi, and the actual panels are made by very few factories, meaning, that you could buy most of the IPS monitors. Basicly they only differ, in design, USB hubs, tilt-ability etc.

    If you do critical work on images etc., be aware that a monitor like the 30" ACD takes about 1/2 hour to reach full luminance after switching it on.

    Best Regards

    That's normal. Apple doesn't convert prices from USD to local exactly. There are lots of factors - tax for one. US prices are displayed without tax, I don't know if Singapore has VAT or equivalent. Import duties etc have an effect as well. Apple do sometimes change their prices to reflect currency changes but they tend to wait until a product is updated. (For example, iPad one was 429 in the UK, iPad two is 399).

    An iMac update can be expected to bring it inline with the new MBPs. Expect a processor bump, thunderbolt and maybe improved graphics. There is no strong indication of a timeframe, but I personally would expect one in the next 2-3 months. Nothing sure there though!

    I recently updated OS X to the newest version of 10.6 (I forgot what number it is) and since then my iMac takes ages to go to sleep. When I put it to sleep (via the apple menu > sleep) then the screen turns black immediately but I still see my cursor. Then after many seconds (never counted, but at least 30 seconds), the screen turns off and the insides stop humming. What could be the problem?

    Are there any good updated comprehensive reviews out there, especially on the iPad?

    It'd be sad to see it go, but I think it's going to.

    If Apple sell are selling a laptop with only 64GB of memory in I don't think they're worried about massess of people needing 160GB+ in the future, especially if a 128GB iPod touch may well be released this september

    Also, Apple are starting to hate selling products with moving parts, look at every iPod (-classic) and the new MacBook Airs...the classic can't go on forever, as Iconic as it is.

    Get one now, they'll be worth a lot on eBay in the future!

    I'll miss it!

    Is this the mini-vga adapter?....the one that will work on iMac G5's? If it is then I will take it....assuming you still have it. I looked for one in CompUSA today but they were all out, so I'd really like to get this from you. Let me know. I'll send you a PM too.

    http://www.sfbags.com/index.htm

    These bags from waterfield designs are really nice. Snug fitting, with good protection. and a nice sleeve on the outside for papers/mouspad etc. I use it in conjunction with a Timbuk2 Messenger bag.

    Also their customer service is second to none. really really nice people, I recieved an automated response to my order, followed quickly by a response from a real person, then subsequent communications once i had recieved the bag, asking how it was, and if I needed anything else.

    really nice people and a fair price for how sturdy these are.

    Or you could consider preloading your images into an array and then just using indexes to reference them. Something like this:

    NSArray *imageArray;
    int imageArrayIndex;

    - (void)viewDidLoad
    {
