This x 100.
People are really stupid, sometimes.
yeah I suppose this also confirms that there will be no iPhone 5 in 2011. Or OS X Lion. Or any substantially improved Macs. Or any great shakes in the iPod lineup...
Get real. Steve said that because it needed to be said. The rumors of a Sept iPad 3 were swirling and Apple didn't want to risk sales being impacted.
I'm not saying that there WILL be an iPad 3 in 2011... but I'm saying that his statement has no relevance to that argument. I think that slide would still have been there even if Steve was inwardly smiling thinking "untill the iPad 3 in September... *evil grin*"
See above comment as it applies to you. Not sure if you can read this with your tinfoil hat falling off of your head and covering your eyes, though.

is this what frontrow 2 is going to include, it explains why is passed over at WWDC. Also with the new ipods coming up in time for the holiday period (and possibly an iphone) film downloads would also link up with that.

Na, these two have and will survive without iPhone.
These already have traffic capability anyway ( via subscription ).
The only reason I feel that way is the likes of Nokia with their already solid mapping available for Symbian and undoubtedly WP7 once it hits, Google Maps and the potential for an Apple designed mapping solution that would be available to literally millions of smartphone users. Not seen nothing from RIM or Palm yet tho.
With Smartphone ownership on the rise, from affordable symbian/android handsets to premium iOS/WP7 and Android handsets, there will be a lot of people out there with a gps solution in their pockets.
Perhaps im jumping the gun but i think it could really affect stand alone units. :)

A phone makes sense as it is fast becoming the digital center of our mobile lives. I just hope it has PDA functions built in. I hate carrying around more than one gadget in my pocket.
My number one concern. I need a pda with my phone, and if Apple's not doing it, I'm stuck.

I'd be interested in a changelog for the Mac Pro update that's more in depth than just "This EFI Firmware Update fixes several Boot Camp and start up issues on Mac Pro computers."
If you subscribe to ADC do you get that, or is this actually crappily secret?
Note proper adjitive.

I'm sure Comcast would love me to upload my 300+Gb of Apple Lossless music! Seriously, I think that
1. If you have ripped music already available in iTunes, your version will not get uploaded, but you will be able to access those songs
2. Anything you upload will be uploaded in a smaller, compressed format....it won't be streamed as a lossless file
3. Before we accept or reject this, let's see what apple has in mind
4. Do not use this as your only backup! If you have lossless files, don't expect to get them back at way from apple. Back up, back up, back up!

Thats because many, many people purchase Apple computers for the same reason they buy designer jeans or luxury cars- they want to be SEEN with it. ... And you can find most of them in public attempting to "strut their stuff".
LOL.
That probably explains the white ear buds as well.

Anyone know if there's an app that saves similar data? I travel a fair bit and found the mapping quite nice to display.
Google Latitude.. use your phone then you can check it when logged in to your google account on your desktop/laptop by going to https://www.google.com/latitude then click the history tab.

This argument is getting old. The iPhone 3GS is available for $50.
and it's a crappy phone compared to $50 android phones. for $50 to $70 you can get an android phone with a 4 or 4.3 inch screen, 1GH CPU, iphone 4 level GPU, much better screen than 3GS, Google Maps with Navigation, Froyo with Flash, HSPA+ radio. and it will probably be upgraded to Android 2.3 by the end of the year where with the 3GS you will probably be lucky to get iOS 5 on it with Apple's recent iOS release machinations

Apple has a tall hill to climb if they want to beat FREE google maps on android? But since it will be on iOS, ignorance is bliss, and people will think its the best thing ever.
You keep your widgets and "free" Google maps on Android. I'll take a robust catalog of quality apps on iOS.
At least I can buy a good nav app for iOS. You can't buy (at any price) a vast number of the highly-polished and functional applications and games I can get on my iOS devices.
Enjoy the compromise.

I wish Apple would at least go on the record to say "no iLife" or "iLife with leopard" or "iLife soon."
I have some projects lined up and it would be nice to wait for some new themes for iDVD. If I had some sort of idea of when its coming out it would make me feel better about starting or holding off certian projects.

Increased marketshare is good, up to a point. Also, if world marketshare is staying the same, but the US is increasing, somewhere in the world apple is becoming less popular.
There is zero logic to that assertion. It sounds like it came from Fox News.

I hope with the release of Leopard OS X doesn't require a reboot for updates or any sort. I'd also like to save my sessions upon shutting down. All the same windows open and in the same place as I left it. Another one would be a more GUI options for the firewall and perhaps an add-on for snort. I know third party tools exist, but I'd like it to be built into the OS. Widgets that can become part of the the desktop background, but not replace it. I'm sure I could make a huge list of improvements, but these are a few that I'd really like to see done.
Yes, and the option of saving open tabs upon quitting Safari or a prompt like Firefox offers to prevent me from accidentally clicking the red close window button and closing all of my open tabs, instead of the back button.

I wish they would hurry up and deliver us UK customers TV Shows, rather than bringing out the Movie Downloads in the US and making me even more jealous!

MacBook Pro does have dedicated GPU, ATI Radeon X1600. MacBook hasn't.
And a separate GPU makes ZERO difference for Photoshop. Zero. Photoshop does not use the GPU any more than Microsoft Word or TextEdit do. It doesn't offload any processing to the GPU the way, say, Motion does. Yes, there are 'Quartz Composer Effects' available in some programs that use the GPU, but if you're using Photoshop, you're probably using Photoshop-native effects, which are solely CPU dependent. (Moving to CS3 will be a SIGNIFICANTLY bigger upgrade than moving from a MacBook to a MacBook Pro, since CS3 will be Universal, whereas CS2 is only PPC, and only runs via Rosetta.)
Really, why do people think that a GPU helps in still photo editing, music editing, or even video editing in non-GPU-enabled programs? (Which includes iMovie, Final Cut Express, and even Final Cut Pro.) The only major media apps that use the GPU are Aperture (which uses it solely for drawing to the screen, not for applying effects,) Motion, and Shake. And even Aperture WORKS on integrated-graphics just fine, it just isn't as smooth. Same with Shake. The no-GPU-no-use limit on Final Cut Studio is artificial, and based solely on the GMA950's inability to run Motion, which is part of the Final Cut Studio.

I'll try and make it if I can, but no promises. I think my Sister had a Doctors appointment on Wed, but I might be able to catch a ride with her bf, or just take the train over from their place in Santa Clara. I'd like to make it. If not, I know I'll be wandering around on Tuesday after the keynote. Maybe see y'all at the OWC thing.
Gonna be weird to see some of you in person. I'm used to you just being disembodied voices. :p And there goes my mystique too.
