Does anyone know what this is about? -Do you want the application "netsession_mac_b94eec3" to accept incoming network connections?
I get this after restarting my laptop sometimes (which isn't that often, it goes weeks without being turned off), looked at that suggested thread but seemed to be another problem to this. Anyone any ideas? I've denied it this time... And this thread is the only thing that comes up from a google search.

Keeping this thread on track, my question is how do they keep animals from these disasters from spreading the leaking radiation?
They go to great lengths to quarantine people when exposed, so they don't spread the radiation. But nobody ever talks about the animals that make there way into these areas and then roam into populated places. The exposure damage a flock of migrating birds could cause is mind blowing.
You'd have to be fairly close to them for more than a brief encounter and the radiation dissipates after awhile. Not only that, they'd have to get fairly large doses in the first place to emit much radiation.

Well I'm 34 and have been gaming since commodore 64's were released. I'm not really into games of this kind but I have to say it's probably the greatest game i have ever played. Possibly with the exception of "elite". In fact I sold my 360 because the game was taking over my life......when i deleted my saved games there were over a thousand of them.....
Hah, that's pretty impressive! So is the description of it's open endedness pretty accurate? I enjoy MMO's, well I enjoy parts of MMOs. I am probably one of the few people who like the idea of an open world with lots of quests and 'mini-adventures' (basically a series of related quests) but not necessarily any larger storyline (not adverse to them, but would rather have a couple mid-sized stories, and lots of smaller adventures than one big story). But, I don't like the time suck that is the MMO. I don't even mind the "grinding" when it's done in the path of a quest like WoW, but I don't like the feeling of having to group up with other people for hours on end to accomplish something.
Anyway, the descriptions of Oblivion sounded a lot like something I would enjoy, but I don't have a computer capable of running it, and I've got to be pretty sure there are at least 6 games out or close to out that I want for the 360 before I plunk down $300+ on one.

At the moment im just using the iMac G4 as a print server and music player in the kitchen (1GHz, 1GB, USB2, 802.11G) however im toying with the idea of turning it into a backup server and was wondering if anyone had any insight into the best way to go about it?
At the minute i have my main computer (an intel imac) in my bedroom with a number of external drives for storage which backs up to a Drobo using Time Machine. The problem i have is that the Drobo is way too loud for the room.
My first idea is to put the Drobo in the kitchen attached to the iMac G4 and backup over the wifi (as my Airport Extreme is in living room) my main issue with it is this and a full backup is around 2.5TB which would take over a month :rolleyes:
is anyone out there using such an old computer for this sort of thing? and do you have any tips? Money is also an issue at the moment so i cant go out and buy something quieter! :o Any help appreciated

Hey guys,
I hope I can get a better reply to this post. I have been getting these error messages from the SMB Name Server logfile, and wanted to know how I can get rid of them. It seems like two ip addresses (which are now dead) are still in the SMB Config file's gutter. Would like to clear that up. Here are the log messages:

I think my choice of light has a lot to do with conditioning through my time being educated as a photographer.
The school had 8 studios with a complete Bron Color set for each, along with three lamps.
My place of internship had me then introduced to Bron's cheap brand "Hensel" and when I went on to the 2nd department of that studio I was back on Bron Color.
During the last year of my studies I was working with Pro Foto and almost immediatly after I was done I worked with Bowens.
Yes, light is light. But the price you pay affects quality of build and durability and how much you can trust the lamps color temperature.
In my current line of work, I'm depending on lamps of 1600watts or more, below that would render my tasks impossible due to the need of high apertures and low iso. (and that's even working with Sinar where I can control the focus plane...)
At home I've settled for a Bowens flash kit with 2 500w lamps which are fine for people photography. I mostly shoot no higher than F8.
But if I had to do large pack shots I would have a problem.
What I like about the Bowens remote kit is that I could just put in two remote cards and then my pocket wizard will trigger them from far away and around corners etc.
I paid around 1500 dollars for that kit (including stands and what not)
I have no doubt in my mind that I will in time exchange my kit to Bron or Pro Foto, or just buy it as an extra set. I trust those two brands and I know for a fact that their longevity is amazing.
At my fulltime job we work on 15-20 year old Bron generators and they are as steady as they've always been... I'd like to see the same durability in a product half as expensive as Bron. I doubt you'd find it.
While Bron offers a lot of customization in their generators, I find the system of Pro Foto very intuitive and user friendly and the way they build their basic reflectors you don't even have to buy into spots etc., just tape two reflectors together :D
My tip would to save up to Bron or Pro... or even invest in a used genny. We sometimes get insane offers like 1000 dollars for a 2400w generator (yeah, my boss got connections :( )
Photographers crash and burn often and it's those guys you need to find... they often sell out their gear for pennies.
Best of luck to ya.

Sorry I actually know what a MIP is I meant to ask what MPI is.
MPI = Message Passing Interface. It's used for cluster computing. Since it depends on sending messages between different processes over TCP/IP, it's susceptible to network changes. Since users are more likely to just install different clients on their different computers instead of using one to distribute work to other local computers, the multi-threading approach is the better approach at the client side. Communicating between multiple threads is also generally more efficient than trying to communicate between processes... with TCP/IP.

So some of you have seen my post about trying to decide b/w a macbook pro 15 or 17. But I was talking to someone today and they said that they heard that the newest model MBP may be released in September? I know this may be a stretch simply because i dont know how much anybody knows about the release date. But should i go ahead with my purchase of the quadcore 2011 version released a couple months ago or should i wait for a possible release that might not even happen?

apparently, and i have tested this, the G5 optimized version of firefox must have that pretty button thing compiled into it
the css
.TestButton {
border-left: 1px dotted #575757;
border-width: thick;
background-color: #f47272;
color: #575757 font: 14px Lucida Grande, Helvetica, sans-serif;
}
i tested that same page on firefox rc1 that i have on my ibook and the button is exactly as it reads, thick border with the left border being dotted and the background a pall red
edit: safari on my ibook produces those same results, while safari on my G5 doesnt
test machines:
ibook g4
800mhz
640mb ram, 30gb hard drive
panther 10.3.6
G5
dual 1.8ghz
2gb ram - dual 250gb hard drives
panther 10.3.6 Server
interestingly enough, maybe its server (for some reason) not allowing the css, but i highly doubt it
odd either way

itunes is well known for music. but not necessarily for movies and tv shows. now that they're putting a more equal push towards all if those products, maybe it is time to change the name. through apples software update on both mac and on windows systems with iTunes currently installed, all current users will update whether or not the name is new. and a new name will make customers consider what is different about the software previously known as iTunes. with a properly timed name change and a name that more appropriately refers to all the media it holds/sells, a lot of people will stop thinking of iTunes just for music.
I also believe the new iTunes will add the ability to rip your DVDs, kind of like a Handbrake/Telestream's Drive-In. the new iTunes should be a place to store all of your media, including your physical DVDs just like how iTunes was originally meant to store your music, including your physical CDs. of course DRM would be added to all of your ripped movies, but to be able to view them on your computer, appletv, and iPod/iPhone, it would be worth the DRM.
i would just suggest that the new iTunes I'm hoping for would need a new name. the time is right.

Have you tried looking up the movie credits for more info???
There are no credits it's in a trailer for a skateboard video, I ended up finding it, it's in my second post.
