I heartily agree, I even paid for a Pixmania card to get discounts and better service. It doesn't work, the discounts are only applied to special items.
As to service, what service? I bought a Nikon Coolpix that had a screen that failed after only 10 days. By the time I had an authorisation to return the item, not in my country but to their office in France, by the time they had sent it to Nikon to confirm there was a problem with the camera and eventually got a refund it took over three months! That was three months of complaining, writing to head office, what aggravation!

Pixmania gets my thumbs down, terrible service.

Yes, everybody would like to know more, but what's another month?
I've already decided that unless by some miracle FCP X can really replace my FCP 7 workflow straight out of the box in June (highly unlikely), I'm not buying it until it truly can, even if it's only $300. I'm sure the post houses feel the same way...Its a no brainer for me. Ill buy it so I can at least start at ground floor. It wont take me away from Avid/FCP at work but I will at least have a head-start in case the school I teach at gets it for Fall classes.
Now as far as dropping it into a real world workflow, Id wait a bit.
Ive learned to not get caught up on the hype thanks to companies such as Adobe :P
Ill let the million plus beta-testers deal with it before I move to another CS blah blah blah :P

Is it true you actually have to launch Launchpad first, then find your app and click it open? if so, how is that an improvement? By the time you perform those steps, you could have typed the app name into Spotlight, or opened the app folder in the dock.

Maybe there's a way to have Launchpad open upon startup of your machine by default, then just click open app icons from there, much in the same way Windows users have icons pinned to their desktops?

Looking forward to WWDC in a month when we should get a better idea of what Lion is really going to be like.

Nice machine, Boxcar! Dual 1.2 and 80 gig hard drive. You realize that that's a faster machine than 90% of us have...

Did you get a combo drive or a superdrive? How much RAM? Monitor?

Just got htis yesterday :) Should be interesting to play - only had 10 minutes to try last night.

One thing that bothers me is that this game is rated for age as 3+ and one of the mentors is described as "Smart and Sexy" Am I being a bit too much of a prude here? I dunno.

lol just a lil ;) But how the hell could a 3 year old understand how to play the gane? It requires quite of bit of planning and thinking to avoid going bankrupt, especially if you put it in FULL mode where you gotta buy and sell stocks...

The only logical thing, should anything get released, would be Final Cut Server.

Other related products are DVD Studio Pro 5, Blu-Ray Drives, Phenomenon (Shake Successor) and Cinema Displays. I do not expect the first three until NAB at the earliest. The Displays maybe at the developers conference.

Apple would not announce Newton 2 at a Final Cut User Event.

Contacted apple support, as it is down for more than a day. They said they are working on it and expect it to fixed in an hour. Hard to believe a software that is essential for all their iOS hardware is down more than a day. (btw, thx for the link to oldapps, though I need the mac version, I like the fact some one is keeping the older versions).

Can I run two external displays from the 21" iMac? One from mini dp with vga converter and one from thunderbolt to vga or hdmi? It looks like the graphics card only supports one external display by the specs.. so what would be the point of using the thunderbolt over the mini display port right?

I would get a 21.5" iMac to go with my two 22" ips monitors if I knew it could work...

I've never found the server healthy enough to watch until 48 hours later anyway. Pity they only put the MW'07 onto the ITS. Perhaps they'll do it with the '08 - so it can download in full and the be watched.

    Doug

And yeah I would rather download it myself. The stream for sure will suck rotten eggs. :(

Given that apple added TRIM support in SL (and there's an easy hack to enable it for non-apple SSDs), I'd say its a slam dunk to think it will be in Lion

I don't know... I agree, that seems logical.

You do know you can Cmd+C an icon in the "Get Info" window and Cmd+V it over the icon you want to replace, right?

    Just joking...

    hahahaha I bet you're not. :p :p

I'd go with Tribeworks 'iShell', Ben and Casey's 'Processing', Ambrosia's 'Snapz Pro' and finally Discreet for the awesome Combustion 3.

I have no clue what he did to say he'd get a "WTF" from Aplle but good going anyway!

He made jailbreak possible when they thought they closed it...yet again...so there's a WTF moment.

Does this happen with every program u runor just the one in the picture. And make sure the resolution is right, it shuld be at whatever your monitor is, also try setting it to the same as your computer to see if it still happens. Also maby try a diferent monitor. But if worst comes to worse try running disc utility on your hard drive, if that doesn't work do a reinstall of the OS using the disc the computer came with. Also back up your stuff just in case.
