I feel compelled to respond to this post. I hope you can take this the right way...
I understand and completely respect where you're coming from though I hope you can respect my opinion on this as well. If there's nothing posted from the initial thread designwise then it's very hard to see it as anything but "can you do it for me?" question, there in lies the issue I have.
It not that I hunt down certain threads I mostly visit the design and gaming parts of the forum...
I have commented on many threads where there has been advice asked, with samples or the work added, but lately there seems to be a case of "soliciting free work" through newbies signing up. I can address the question when artwork (or an attempt is made), I can add relevant links, point them to a good tutorial, point them to a good resource, etc.. but not from what I would consider to be a "speciously interpreted" question. I have even helped out people via critique via PM outside threads.
Consider this, without any artwork attached there it could be considered as one thing from a newbie considering how many of these threads have popped up in recent times...

Interesting, but what is this emulator based on, i.e. is it QEMU or another repackaged version of Bochs?

Its kind of a duh thing.
apple was the really the only successful computer maker to provide a tablet that people actually wanted. They couldn't keep them in stock.
The competition wasn't about to take that lying down and so by the end of 2010 other tablets have started hitting the market.
In apple's marketshare will decrease even further as other computer makers ready their answer to the iPad.
The competition is driving everyone to improve their products, so the winners are the consumers. Features are added and prices remain constant.

Because Apple has taste and actually gives a damn about basic aesthetics.

Do you have a local option to buy the RAM? I've bought my upgrades from Fry's because they have stores in my area and their prices have been competitive.

Wow, that is great. Does the amount of the student discount depend on school, or is it the same regardless? Also, I called Apple store and they told me that the student discount is anywhere from $50 to $200. I configured the iMac online (Apple's site Education Store) and the difference between a regular price and the student price is $135. $2,349 (reg. price) vs. $2,214 (student price). What am I missing? 3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 2TB Serial ATA Drive, everything else is default.
The low end 21" gets a $50 discount, the rest get a $100.
MBP's get a $100 discount for the 13" and base 15" model. The higher end 15" and 17" models get a $200 discount.
I picked up a 27" yesterday, and received the $100 education discount.

Andy Rubin sounds very wishy washy. Steve Jobs is very clear about it.

So does the volume actually work? Can I raise the volume lower and higher or does it always revert back to minimum volume? I think I might be interested.

Darn right. I'm pretty happy. Sorry people, this amazing device is no longer for sale. Your chance at a good deal is over.

Choice is good. Let's hope Microsoft can finish their software before releasing it. I have a little more faith in RIM doing so.
Hope? You haven't tried the Zune software, I see. Makes iTunes look like crapware written by a high school student.

I'm in Singapore and want to head up to a launch. Which city would be the best for the iPad 2? Are there any more official apple stores opening between now and the rumored launch dates?

Sorry for the slow reply, was doing a bit of spider removal.
Viewing angles on most IPS panels should be around 178 degrees. One thing to consider is, are you going to be looking at it from an unusual angle? Most people I know look at monitors from the front! :D
Only direction you'll notice real degradation in picture quality on an IPS is vertically and that won't be an issue, unless you're freakishly tall and you like your monitor at your ankles.
I used to worry a lot about similar things but once I'd researched it realised that there doesn't seem to be a huge amount of difference until you start spending lots and lots of money, and at that point it'll be past the stage of diminishing returns for average computer users.
I was wondering about viewing angles, because at night I sometimes flip the screen around to face the bed, and watch a movie. Because the desk is about a foot higher than the bed, and it doesnt tilt down much, the colours look a bit 'off'.
And when it gets to a dark scene, I really notice the backlight.

I wish "crude analogy" would settle for a screen name. He is the same person as "RUNCIBLE 2.0" and "citizensane". If you go back and search for these aliases, you can find that he will have a conversation/support with himself.
Citizensane, crude analogy, Runcible 2.0, it's insulting to me when i look at your business card on your personal website and you call yourself a "writer, visionary, artist. Genius". I am a graphic designer and looking at your stuff I can say you are anything but an artist genius.
PS:
I think I am holding a grudge after you told me to kiss a rhyno's sphincter, when I have not even insulted you. Link. (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16031)

Can you do some gaming tests: Portal 2, Crysis Warhead, Crysis 2 etc?
and, if you have a mini-display port (AKA: Thunderbolt) to HDMI adapter, could you see if it's possible to connect a PS3 / xbox to the iMac?

This is a 3 min example. it's very sloppy and rough but I hope it shows the concept for yah how to do better hands and you can do a decent job on your copy.
That looks amazing! but i still don't think the sizing is right to put it in front of the ink bottle.....

As far as I can tell, the "search to sketch" app is not for local businesses, it is for local restaurants only. I cannot find a way to search for non-restaurant businesses.
